Peabody Energy visits Missouri S&T’s campus

On Friday February 12, 2010, representatives from Peabody Energy visited the campus of Missouri University of Science and Technology (Missouri S&T) in Rolla, Mo., to share their journey of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system implementation. Mr. Gary Kalbfleisch (CIO), Ms. Stephanie Schejbal (Director of ERP Technology), and Ms. Susan Stith (Director of Talent Management) talked about the company’s experience with their SAP implementation project. Prior to the start of the talk, Mr. Gary Kalbfleisch awarded Peabody Scholarships to Daniel Sequeira and Joe Pieczynski for their academic performance and research contributions in the field of ERP. Ms. Susan Stith also conducted an interactive behavioral interview workshop to improve the interviewing skills of the students. The workshop was received highly by those who attended. The event pictures are available here.

The Peabody management team exchanged project and curriculum thoughts with Provost Kent Wray, Vice Provosts Dr. K. Krishnamurthy, Dr. Venkata Allada, and Dr. Henry Wiebe, Dr. Lea-Ann Morton of the Career Opportunity Center, Ms. Mary Bird of the Development Office, and ERP faculty during a luncheon.

The Peabody Management team also attended an ERP project showcase organized by ERP students and provided valuable insights to improve student ERP research and curriculum. The event pictures are available here.
