Mr. Ben Tipton from Phelps County Bank joined the simulation competition as an industry panel judge to judge the investor presentation on March 17th and to give feedback and guidance to the competing teams. Mr. Tipton is the senior vice president for commercial leading and business development at Phelps County Bank.
Phelps County Bank and S&T's Center for ERP worked together to host Quarter 2 of the SAP Simulation Competition on Thursday, March 24th . Ms. Linda Goff of Phelps County Bank joined the six student teams and shared information about how the bank uses information technology and also provided insight into the banking business operations that take place.
This simulation competition is for graduate and undergraduate students at Missouri S&T. Students run a simulation for a business for five quarters over the span of several months where they compete head to head to gain special training from S&T ERP students, faculty, and industry partners. Teams compete for awards, company sponsorship prizes, and the chance to represent Missouri S&T in the 2016 International ERP Simulation competition.
Quarter two of this simulation was hosted on Tuesday, March 24, 2016, on the Missouri S&T Campus. Team Fresh Flavor (Montana Long, Vamsi Navulura, Ranjana Sharma, and David Wegan) finished in first place while team Best Brand Inc. (Mfoniso Etudor, Naseem Khan Pratik Reddy, and Sound Krishnamoorthy) finished second.
