Congratulations to Joseph Pieczynski for earning the Distinguished Student Award for Outstanding Contribution for his service to the Center for Enterprise Resource Planning. Joe graduated this month (May 2011) with a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Science and Technology with an emphasis in Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and he was the first recipient of this award, which was created by the Center for Enterprise Resource Planning to recognize a graduating student who made significant contribution to the mission and activities of the Center for ERP. 

During his time at MS&T, Joe has coordinated and participated in numerous functions and activities for the Center for ERP, contributing his time and abilities to help improve the Center for ERP website and program.  As Student Event Coordinator for the Center for ERP, he helped coordinate numerous events and guest speakers, and as an ERP Ambassador, Joe representing the program to potential students, parents and visiting employers.  He earned first place in the ERP/SAP simulation game here at MS&T and went on to compete in the worldwide HEC ERP Simulation Competition.  In addition, Joe also participated in the Opportunities for Undergraduate Research Experiences (OURE) program with a project on the subject of the Impact of Business Knowledge and Technical Proficiency on Learning Outcomes of ERP Courses, and contributed to the program’s AACSB Accreditation performance dashboard project.  We wish him all the best as he moves on to a full time position with a global ERP consulting firm.
